CLEVELAND, Ohio — School districts across Northeast Ohio were canceling or delaying classes for Thursday, Jan. 15, as a winter storm was expected to drop up to 15 inches of snow on the region.
Heavy snow already was affecting travel Wednesday night in the snow belt east of Cleveland. Speed limits had been reduced to 40 mph on Interstate 90 east of Ohio 44 in Lake County because of slick conditions, according to the OHGO.com website.

The West Side wasn’t escaping the storm. I-90 was covered in snow near Avon just after 10 p.m.
Districts that already have canceled classes Thursday include Avon Schools and Avon Lake City Schools, Bay Village City Schools, Elyria City Schools, Parma City Schools, St. Edward High School, St. Ignatius High School, and Westlake City Schools.
