Ghosts win; Town lose

Fakenham Town were the only West Norfolk winners this afternoon after Downham Town suffered a disappointing defeat on their travels
The Ghosts picked up their first win and clean sheet since mid-December with a 1-0 success at a foggy Kirkley and Pakefield, but in the same division, Heacham saw their game at Woodbridge Town abandoned due to the fog.
In the Isthmian League North, Downham Town suffered a 2-1 defeat at basement boys Brantham Athletic, who picked up their first win of the campaign as a result.
Ethan Flack was on target for Fakenham Town in a 1-0 victory at Kirkley and Pakefield this afternoon.
The hosts started strongly, taking an early lead in the 8th minute through Reuben Chinnery.
Benjamin Young doubled the advantage just after the half-hour mark, giving Brantham a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into the break.
Downham pulled a goal back through Dylan Kirk in the second half.
Next Saturday, Downham return to home action when they entertain Walthamstow at the Memorial Field.
In the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division, Andy Cunningham’s Fakenham side had gone four league and cup games without a win heading into today’s trip on the east coast of Norfolk.
Striker Ethan Flack scored the only goal of the game in the second half to hand the Ghosts the three points.
Falenham are fourth in the league standings, four points adrift of third-placed Ely City, but with three games in hand.
The Ghosts play host to Lakenheath net Saturday, while Heacham entertain Kirkley and Pakefield at Station Road.
