Union Saint-Gilloise vs Atalanta
Champions League, 8pm Wednesday
Union Saint-Gilloise are clinging on to their hopes of reaching the knockout stage of this year’s Champions League but those dreams look set to be dashed by Atalanta, who have top-eight designs of their own.
The Belgians have had to play their home games in this year’s Champions League at their rival Anderlecht’s stadium due to theirs being too small and their form has taken a real hit as a result.
Union have lost all three home games in this year’s competition by an aggregate score of 11-2 and look set for more misery against an Atalanta side on the up.
The Italians lost 3-2 to Athletic Bilbao last week but they have already beaten Chelsea, Marseille and Eintracht Frankfurt in this competition this season, as well as coming out on top in ten of their last 14 matches.
With the hosts struggling in front of their own fans, expect Atalanta to take full advantage and give themselves a chance of an automatic spot in the last 16 with a win.
Odds: 6-5 with Coral
