Bob Weeks Picks Six: Farmers Insurance Open

Last week: A good week for Pick Six as we had the winner (Scottie Scheffler +350), a top 10 (Ryan Gerrard +460) and a top 20 (Jason Day +250).
This week: The tour heads to Torrey Pines for its annual stop at the municipal facility, where both the North and the South are in play in the opening rounds, followed by two rounds on the South.
To Win
Ludvig Aberg +1700
He had to WD last week due to illness, but a healthy Aberg should get some attention. He won on this course last year, when it hosted the Genesis. Finished tied for ninth here in 2024.
Si Woo Kim +2700
Kim is coming off a tie for sixth last week at the American Express and a tie for 11th the week before in Hawaii. He should be able to count on his tee ball – he’s fifth in driving accuracy this year — on a course that demands it
Top 10
Jason Day +270
A healthy Day is a dangerous Day, especially at a tournament where he’s won twice before. He arrives at Torrey Pines off a tie for second last week and although it’s early in the season, the Aussie leads the tour in Strokes Gained: Total.
Taylor Pendrith +330
Pendrith missed the cut last week but was tied for sixth at the SONY Open to start the season. His power off the tee will be an asset at Torrey Pines, and his putting – a disappointment last season – is showing signs of improvement so far in 2026. He’s finished inside the top 10 the last two years here.
Top 20
Hideki Matsuyama +115
Made the cut here 10 times in 12 starts including the last nine and finished inside the top 15 in two of the last three years. He started the season with a tie for 13th at the SONY Open.
Ryan Gerrard +185
Have to keep going with this guy even though he might be running out of gas. He’s finished second in the first two events of the year. He was tied for 15th here a year ago.
Prop
Denny McCarthy over Brooks Koepka in Round 1 -125
Koepka will have a lot to deal with in his first round back on the PGA Tour while McCarthy has fired first rounds of 65 and 67 so far this season
Top Canadian
Sudarshan Yellamaraju +470
Those who don’t know about how long the young Canadian can hit it are about to find out.
