Oilers’ Calvin Pickard, Flames’ Justin Kirkland placed on waivers

The move comes with Pickard sitting third on the depth chart, with the Oilers opting to go with Tristan Jarry and Connor Ingram as their tandem.

The 33-year-old last played on Jan. 8 in a victory over the Winnipeg Jets.

In 16 games this season, Pickard has a 5-6-2 record with a 3.68 goals-against average and a .871 save percentage.

Ingram has a 6-3-1 record with Edmonton in 12 games, recording a 2.55 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage.

Jarry joined the Oilers in a trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins and has a 9-3-1 record with a 3.59 goals-against average and a .873 save percentage.

Kirkland has appeared in just 20 games this season, recording a goal and two points. The 29-year-old signed a one-year, $900,000 deal last June.
