Report: Pistons trade G Jaden Ivey to Bulls in three-team deal

The Chicago Bulls are beefing up their backcourt ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.

The Pistons will acquire shooting guard Kevin Huerter and power forward Dario Saric from the Bulls and a 2026 first-round protected pick swap from Minnesota as part of the deal.

Ivey is the centrepiece of the deal for Chicago. The former fifth-overall pick from 2022 has struggled this year since returning from arthroscopic knee surgery just before the season, and is averaging only 8.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 16.8 minutes per game, all career lows.

The 23-year-old excelled with the Pistons last year before suffering a season-ending fibula injury in early January. He was averaging 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 29.9 minutes of action a night over 30 games.

Conley, meanwhile, has played a bench role with the Timberwolves this season for the first time in 19-year career. Consequently, the 38-year-old is averaging a career low 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists while playing only 18.5 minutes a night.

The one-time All-Star was drafted fourth overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2007 and has spent the last four years of his career in Minnesota.

In Huerter, the Pistons acquired an adept three-point shooter to help their 21st-ranked distance-shooting team. Though he’s struggled this season, hitting only 31.4 per cent of his looks beyond the arc, the 27-year-old is a career 37.1 three-point shooter and is still averaging a solid 10.9 points in 44 games this season.
