Rob Gronkowski: Tom Brady ‘probably wants to be the guy’ in Super Bowl 60

Tom Brady saying he doesn’t have a dog in the fight between his former Patriots team and the Seattle Seahawks — a team he beat in one of his six Super Bowls in New England — in Super Bowl 60 didn’t sit right with a lot of fans.
But Rob Gronkowski thinks he might know why his former teammate said what he did.
“I’m not Tom. I haven’t talked to him yet since the Patriots have been in the Super Bowl,” the former NFL tight end said on “Up & Adams.” “Because he probably wants to be the quarterback. He’s that competitive. He probably wants to be the guy in the Super Bowl right now.”
Unlike Brady, Gronkowski made it clear he was pulling for the Patriots on Sunday.
“I’m rooting for the Patriots,” he said. “What’s great about the Patriots being in the Super Bowl is … it’s bringing back just how dominant the Patriots are.
“And there’s a lot of fans out there that are mad that the Patriots are back in the Super Bowl, which is great for us,” Gronkowski continued, “because that brings back they’re mad because of how many times we won.”
Gronkowski predicted the Patriots would defeat the Seahawks by the same 28-24 score New England defeated Seattle by in Super Bowl 49.

Perhaps Brady wanted to play it down the middle because he’s a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders as well as an analyst for FOX Sports. Or maybe he really feels like he just wants to see good football.
“May the best team win,” Brady said on “Let’s Go!”
