The first UFC Fight Night weigh-in of 2026 could’ve gone much smoother.
Four fighters scheduled to step into the cage Saturday at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas missed weight by a combined 12.5 pounds on the eve of competition Friday.
Opponents Wang Cong and Eduarda Moura both missed weight ahead of a scheduled women’s flyweight contest. The non-title limit for that weight class is 126 pounds yet Cong weighed 127.5 pounds and Moura was an even 127. The UFC announced the fight will proceed as scheduled despite the misses.
Muin Gafurov missed weight by a whopping five pounds, stepping on the scale at 141 pounds ahead of his scheduled bantamweight matchup with Jakub Wiklacz. Gafurov will forfeit 25 per cent of his purse to his opponent and the fight will proceed as a catchweight bout.

A scheduled bantamweight matchup between Said Nurmagomedov and Javid Basharat was switched up in the days leading up to the event. Due to visa issues, Nurmagomedov was unable to compete and was replaced by Gianni Vazquez, who’ll be making his organizational debut.
The UFC newcomer accepted the matchup only on a few days’ notice and ended up missing weight by five pounds. Vazquez will forfeit 25 per cent of his purse to Basharat but this fight will also proceed at a catchweight.
Basharat, 30, is 14-2 with one no-contest after beginning his pro career 14-0 and winning his first three UFC bouts. Vazquez, 31, typically competes in the flyweight division and has won his past five fights all in the California-based Up Next Fighting organization.
News of Vasquez’s signing and Nurmagomedov’s inability to compete at the event was first reported by MMA Latinoamérica.
Saturday’s card is headlined by ranked bantamweight contenders Mario Bautista and Vinicius Oliveira, both of whom successfully made weight.
