Lobos Make First Mountain West Trip to Grand Canyon Wednesday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team makes its first conference trip to Grand Canyon on Wednesday night. Game time at Global Credit Union Arena is 8:00 p.m. and the game will air on FS1 and the Lobo Radio Network.
The Lobos (18-6, 9-4 MW) are looking to snap a two-game losing streak after home losses to Utah State and Boise State. New Mexico is led by Jake Hall, who averages 15.5 points per game and with 74 threes on the season is one shy of the Mountain West freshman record of 75, set by San Jose State’s Rashad Muhammad in 2013-14.
Grand Canyon (15-8, 8-4 MW) is coming off an 80-78 loss at UNLV on Saturday. The Lopes are 11-2 at home this season and have won five straight home conference games.
The Lobos are looking for a season sweep of the series, having defeated GCU 87-64 on Jan. 13 at The Pit, the Lopes’ most lopsided loss of the season. UNM leads the all-time series 5-1, with the home team having won all six previous games.
The Lobos will have a weekend off following the game before returning to action Feb. 17 by hosting Air Force. Game time is 7 p.m. and tickets are on sale at GoLobos.com/tickets.
