WTA Indian Wells Best Bets Including Sonay Kartal vs Emma Navarro

The second-round action at the WTA Indian Wells features as many quality matches as it does lopsided matches on the books. There is definitely a good offering of bets with lines as large as 13-1 or larger. This offers fans a good chance to explore the lower-middle card for their bets. Please share your thoughts on our choices in the comments section.

WTA Indian Wells

Volynets – Ostapenko: Time 12:30

H2H: 0-0

Katie Volynets vs Jelena Ostapenko will be a first-chance encounter between the two foes. Volynets is 8-6 in 2026, while Ostapenko is 6-6. Both ladies have an equal overall winning percentage on a hardcourt this year, but only Volynets has played on more than one surface. If you are looking at more recent records on a hardcourt, then Volynets is going to stand out a bit more. Volynets is 53-37 over the last three years, and has won at least 20 hardcourt matches a year going back to 2023.

Best Bet to Make

Ostapenko is the favorite in this match, I’m guessing due to her World ranking. I think this is a bit short-sighted for several reasons, the biggest being her lack of outstanding play on a hardcourt or an ability to establish herself as someone to be taken seriously on a hardcourt. In the same three-year span as Volynets, Ostapenko is 28-30 on a hardcourt overall. Only twice has Ostapenko ever won more than 20 games in a season on hardcourt, in 2017 and 2023. I like Volynets straight for 2.5 on bet365.

That being said, Volynets winning is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/the best odds: Volynets winning @2.5 @bet365

Samsonova – Krueger: Time 12:30

H2H: 1-0

Liudmila Samsonova will meet Ashlyn Krueger for only the second time in her career. Their only other meeting was the 2024 US Open third-round match, which Samsonova won in straight sets. She only lost two games to Krueger in that entire match. Samsonova made the quarterfinal here at WTA Indian Wells in 2025, but that’s the furthest she’s progressed in her career here. Krueger has never made it past the second round.

Best Bet to Make

Liudmila Samsonova can be had straight up for 1.8 on Betfair. The only other bet I would consider is if you believe that Samsonova is once again going to completely dump on Krueger, as she did in their last match, winning 2:0. In that case, grab Samsonova 2:0 for 2.75 on bet365. If she can do it at the US Open, she can surely do it at Indian Wells.

That being said, Samsonova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/the best odds: Samsonova winning 2:0 @2.75 @bet365

Kartal – Navarro: Time 12:30

H2H: 0-2

Sonay Kartal meets Emma Navarro for the third time in our featured match. They’ve met twice before, only one of them at the WTA level. That match would be their three-round Billie Jean King Cup match, won by Navarro. That said, their semifinal ITF match was a straight-set loss to Navarro on grass. Kartal is 10-5 in 2026, while Navarro is only 4-7 overall. All of her matches have been on a hardcourt. Despite their different records, both of them have only been as far as the quarterfinals in any tournament in which they have played in 2026.

Best Bet to Make

Kartal is the favorite in this match, but not by very much. The average line checks in at 1.87-1.92 in favor of Sonay, but there were plenty of lines within fewer than .10 points between the two. I think Navarro is the smart play here, simply because she hasn’t struggled with Sonay. One could argue that Sonay is playing slightly better at 10-5, but both have made a quarterfinal. Sure, Kartal has two compared to Navarro’s one, but there’s not a lot separating these two thus far this year. Navarro straight up at 1.98 on Pinnacle.

That being said, Navarro winning is a value bet for sure.
