Norwegian police said a loud blast was heard near the United States embassy in the capital, Oslo, Al Jazeera reported.
Authorities said it was not immediately clear what caused the blast or who was involved, the police said in a statement.
Police said they are in contact with the embassy and there were no immediate reports of injuries. Officials said the situation is being investigated and more information will be released as it becomes available.
