Costco Canada’s new food court item has a lot of people in dismay

Canadians hoping that Costco’s recent food court menu addition was the much-loved chicken bake may be disappointed after learning what the grocery chain has actually dropped instead.
On Thursday, March 5, Costco Canada posted a pixelated photo of a new food court menu addition that would be launching across Canada.
“Any guesses on what’s coming soon to your local Costco Food Court?” asked Costco.
Many took to the comments, sharing their hopes for items like the chicken bake, a very popular option available at its locations in the U.S., in addition to other guesses like coffee, the turkey provolone sandwich, or a veggie dog.
The following day, Costco shared the unblurred photo revealing that the new item was a caramel brownie sundae, leaving many hopeful chicken bake fans disappointed.

“I WANT THE CHICKEN BAKE 😭😭😭😭😭,” shared one person on Instagram.
“Take this back and bring the chicken bake, please,” said another.
“The weirdest looking chicken bake I’ve ever seen,” added a third.
But it’s not just the chicken bake fans who were frustrated; many shared that they are looking for more savoury options at Costco food courts.
“Coffee, turkey provolone. Those are what we want. Not more ice cream options released in winter,” said one Instagram commenter.
“Why is it always ice cream and never something people actually want?” added a second.
“Can we get a salad option in Costco Canada? That would do a lot to actually round out the menu, especially for folks with diabetes or other needs,” shared another.
Despite the many comments from disappointed customers, there were still a few folks excited about the new sundae.
“Fine, you got me, bro….move over, I’m on my way,” said one person.
“Start the caaaaaar!!! 🚗🚗🚗,” said another.
“Oooo, this is exciting! Costco ice cream is so much better than DQ, and so much more budget-friendly for a family,” shared a third.
Over the last year, we’ve seen multiple items added to Costco’s food court menus, including the return of the Montreal smoked meat sandwich and even sushi at select locations. Additionally, Costco recently made the switch from Pepsi to Coca-Cola products.
