Captain’s performance earns Ampadu Player of the Match award in Brentford draw

Leeds United captain Ethan Ampadu was voted the Hisense Player of the Match by supporters following the Whites’ 0-0 draw with Brentford at Elland Road.
In a disciplined and competitive Premier League encounter, Daniel Farke’s side earned a hard-fought point, with both teams well organised and difficult to break down across the 90 minutes. At the heart of Leeds’ performance, however, was Ampadu, who delivered a commanding display in both defensive and midfield phases.
The 25-year-old completed the full match and led by example throughout, registering 99 touches and completing 66 passes as he dictated the tempo from deep. Ampadu also contributed going forward, recording one shot and 28 carries, covering a total distance of 222.8 metres with the ball.
Defensively, the skipper was instrumental in ensuring Leeds kept a clean sheet. He made 13 defensive contributions in total, including seven recoveries, three tackles, two clearances and an interception. Ampadu also showed his physical presence, winning eight duels over the course of the contest.
His all-action performance earned him five Fantasy Premier League points and, more importantly, the backing of the supporters, who awarded him 29% of the Hisense Player of the Match vote.
Anton Stach finished second in the voting with 23%, followed by Jaka Bijol on 13% and Pascal Struijk with 11%.
