PVM Scholars Recognized at Purdue One Health and Well-Being Research Event

Purdue University’s recent One Health and Well-Being Research Event: A Celebration of Interdisciplinary Health Research, put the spotlight on several scholars in the College of Veterinary Medicine.  The one-day event was organized by the College of Health and Human Sciences in partnership with several other colleges including Purdue Veterinary Medicine. It is estimated that more than 300 people attended the event at the Purdue Memorial Union North and South Ballrooms March 10.

Over 140 posters were presented, spanning research on the health and well-being of animals, plants, humans, and the environment. A total of 16 posters were from students or post-docs performing research with faculty affiliated with the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Graduate Student Competition

Gold Winner:  Ying-Cheng Chen, Department of Basic Medical Sciences

Mentor: Dr. Marxa Figueiredo

Silver Winner:  Gabriel Harris, Department of Basic Medical Sciences 

Mentor: Dr. Marxa Figueiredo 

Postdoctoral Researcher Competition

Gold Winner:  Chayan Sharma, Department of Comparative Pathobiology 

Mentor: Dr. Christopher A Rice
