Dana White reacts to Alexa Grasso’s insane finish at UFC Seattle – ‘One of the greatest in sports history’

An all-timer went down in “Rain City.”

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Women’s Flyweight champion Alexa Grasso delivered a jaw-dropping finish against Maycee Barber in the co-main event of UFC Seattle last night (Sat., March 28, 2026) inside Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

In a wild sequence, Grasso dropped Barber with a clean left hand, followed up with a final punch as she fell, then immediately snatched her neck and secured a submission — all within seconds — leaving Barber unconscious on the canvas (watch highlights).

It was as violent and seamless as it gets.

And according to UFC CEO Dana White, it wasn’t just one of the best finishes of the year (so far) — it’s one of the best he’s ever seen.

“I think it is one of the greatest in sports history, let alone this year, tonight or whatever,” White said during the UFC Seattle post-fight press conference. “It was incredible.”

White has long said the “sells holy s—t moments,” and this was exactly that.

From the initial knockdown that spun Barber around, to the instant transition into a choke, the entire sequence played out like a highlight reel in real time — the kind of finish that defines the sport at its most chaotic and beautiful.

Beyond the spectacle, the win carries serious weight for Grasso.

Entering the bout on the first two-fight losing streak of her career — both lopsided setbacks — there were real questions about where she stood in the title picture.

Those questions are now gone.

With the emphatic win, Grasso snaps Barber’s seven-fight streak and firmly holds her position near the top of the division.
