2026 Canterra Seeds Cup Final Preview

REGINA, SK – For the first time in history, the Flin Flon Bombers and Yorkton Terriers will contend for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League championship.
That they have not met in the final—given the storied nature of both franchises, with the Bombers founded in 1927 and the Terriers in 1972—is remarkable. Even more surprising: they have not faced each other in a playoff series since Yorkton swept Flin Flon in the 1989 semifinal.
The No. 1-seeded Flin Flon Bombers swept the Estevan Bruins in Round 1 and then defeated the Weyburn Red Wings in seven games in the semifinal.
Yorkton, the No. 2 seed, beat their Highway 10 rivals, the Melville Millionaires, in six games in Round 1 before outlasting the Battlefords North Stars in Game 7.
The Bombers are preparing for their fourth final in the last five seasons, though they have not won the championship since 1993.
The Terriers have not reached the final since winning it in 2014—a season in which they also captured the Junior A National Championship.
Yorkton has appeared in 13 league finals and won six titles, while Flin Flon has captured 16 championships across the SJHL and its predecessor leagues.
Here is how the two teams match up:
