“Great Malvern is a Hidden Gem in the English Countryside!” (Jun 2025 • Solo)
I just spent a long weekend in Great Malvern, From the moment you arrive, the town feels like stepping into a postcard: elegant Victorian architecture, charming streets, and those incredible Malvern Hills rising dramatically right behind it all.
The hills are the absolute highlight. I hiked up to the Worcestershire Beacon on a clear day and the 360-degree views across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, and even into Wales on the horizon were breathtaking. Fresh air, rolling landscapes, and a real sense of peace – perfect for walkers of all levels. I also loved exploring the Great Malvern Priory with its stunning medieval stained glass (some of the oldest in the country) and soaking up the history at the Malvern Museum.
The town itself is delightful, i wandered the independent shops, and sampled the famous Malvern spring water straight from the fountains. The local cafés and pubs serve excellent food with a real emphasis on fresh, regional produce – our afternoon tea with views over the hills was unforgettable.
Everything feels unspoiled and welcoming. Whether you’re into hiking, history, culture, or just relaxing in beautiful surroundings, Great Malvern delivers in spades. It’s the perfect spot for a rejuvenating break away from the crowds.

“First day the fountain was on for the season” (Mar 2026 • Couples)
Lottery week free entry so we took a trip over to see Witley Court. Car park cost £3.50. The cafe doesn’t open till Easter 🐣 so that’s a shame. A coffee cart mobile would have been fantastic today. First day of the season that the fountain was on. On the hour. The gardens are fantastic. The hyacinths fragrance stunning

“Fantastic day out” (Sept 2025)
Visited last month using the free pass from English Heritage – just had to pay a small fee for parking. Really enjoyed our day and the church is a must see! There is a cafe near the church, we didn’t buy anything as we had taken a packed lunch but it looked nice. The only toilets are located at the front reception area. The water fountain is impressive and everything looked well maintained.
3. Experience Malvern Theatres

“Great experience live entertainment at a great theatre.” (Mar 2026 • Couples)
We visted for the first time to see The soul brothers syndicate featuring Darrell Smith. What a great space for the locality. Nice open feel to all the public areas for pre show drinks etc. Friendly staff. Our view from the circle was excellent and the sound system was ideal. The show was excellent, highly recommended.
We don’t live locally, but we would consider travelling again for another show, especially if the soul brothers syndicate featuring Darrell Smith return at some point in the future.

“Well worth the effort.” (May 2024 • Friends)
Cracking walk and views. Raining yesterday but sunny today. Worth climbing up in the morning when it is not too busy. Really loved the whole experience.

“Stunning scenery” (May 2023)
Definitely worth the walk. The scenery is stunning. On a sunny day you can see for miles in all directions. Paths of different gradients and surfaces so sensible shoes required and bringing a water bottles with you is a good (plus a couple of hair clips in your pocket if a windy day!) Beautiful area.
5. Discover Great Malvern Priory
A historic church known for its architecture and stained glass, now serving both as a place of worship and a community space.

“A bit of a mess inside” (Apr 2026 • Couples)
I’m not in any way religious, but that does not stop anyone appreciating the architecture, history, craftsmanship and so on of a religious building.
So I therefore found a large part of the Priory an utter mess. There’s a big gift shop as you enter (ok, I know money needs to be raised, so I can accept that), but rest of it – what a mess. It looked more like a children’s play group, creche or a village community centre than a church.

“Lively building” (Mar 2026 • Couples)
Sturdy building with some beautiful windows..especially the modern ones.
It has lost a sense of awe and calm as it is a community centre inside. Shop, creche, band area, desks and children’s models and so on. Which is fine. I’m sure Jesus would love the church to be used for the benefit of community. If you love old buildings and architecture be aware.

“Good venue and historic attractions” (Feb 2026 • Solo)
Fantastically historical venue. Highlights were the Magnificat Window with one of the few images of Henry VIII’s older brother Arthur, and the Elizabethan Knotsford Tomb, and the Monks’ stalls and Misericords.
