Is AMC Theatres app down? Latest updates for outage on Thursday, June 4

The demand for Christopher Nolan’s next film appears to be through the roof. AMC Theaters began selling tickets for The Odyssey, which hits theaters July 17, on its mobile app today.
Shortly thereafter the app crashed, according to Down Detector and grumbling on social media. Users attempting to buy tickets are apparently being pointed to a message that reads, “The line is paused.” A similar outage came when tickets for Craig Gillespie’s Supergirl went up for sale on the AMC app yesterday.
Down Detector is also indicating Fandango is having issues, so securing a ticket looks to be nearly impossible at this moment.
The Odyssey is Nolan’s first film since the Oscar-winning drama Oppenheimer. It stars Matt Damon as Odysseus and an all-star supporting cast including Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal and Tom Holland.
Nolan is widely credited with helping to save the movie theater industry, as he especially appeals to the younger generations who grew up with his sci-fi and comic book films. He looks to have another theatrical hit on his hands with The Odyssey, if these outages are any indication.
