Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are celebrating their son Michael’s 29th birthday by reflecting on the day he was born.
During a Tuesday, June 2 episode of their show Live with Kelly & Mark, the famous couple wished their eldest, son Michael, a happy birthday. However, Ripa said it wasn’t quite her son’s birthday, since the time of day he was born hadn’t happened yet.
“I said, ‘Remember, you weren’t born until 7:17 p.m., so technically it’s not your birthday yet,” recalled Ripa of the birthday text she sent her son that morning. “You haven’t made your grand entrance yet.”

Consuelos went on to say that Ripa always makes a “speech” about their kids’ birth times on their birthdays.
“I remember, I was watching Entertainment Tonight when they were like, ‘Ready to have a baby?’ ” Ripa said of being in the hospital to have Michael. “And I was like, ‘Okay, can we wait ’til this episode’s over?'”
The dad of three added that Ripa had a “very long labor” and they ended up sleeping at the hospital overnight. Ripa explained that while it was a long labor, it wasn’t as difficult an experience as some of the other women in the hospital.
“I remember hearing someone having a baby on the floor,” shared Consuelos. “The woman in the hallway, [she] gave birth in the hallway,” added Ripa. “[She] got to the hospital too late for an epidural and was in active labor.”
“I remember thinking I had gotten to the hospital too early, but then I heard that, and I was like, ‘Just in time! I got here in the nick of time!’ ” continued Ripa. “We both woke up. It woke us both up, and I was fully under the haze of an epidural. I was feeling nothing, but I felt that.”
Alongside Michael, Ripa and Consuelos also share daughter Lola, 24, and son Joaquin, 23.
