PWHL HAMILTON SIGNS NICOLE GOSLING TO THREE-YEAR CONTRACT

HAMILTON, ON (June 6, 2026) – PWHL Hamilton today announced that defender Nicole Gosling has signed a Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Standard Player Agreement ahead of the team’s inaugural 2026-27 season. Gosling, who was under contract with the Montréal Victoire, joins PWHL Hamilton on a new deal through the 2028-29 campaign and becomes the fourth of five players to be added to the team during Phase 2 of the PWHL’s Expansion Roster Distribution Process.
Gosling, selected by Montréal with the fourth overall pick in the 2025 PWHL Draft, was one of the league’s top rookies in 2025-26 while anchoring the Victoire’s defence en route to its first Walter Cup title. The Rookie of the Year award finalist recorded 19 points (3G, 16A), tied for the most among first-year players at the rearguard position in league history and tied for second-most among all rookie skaters this season. The Clarkson University product’s 16 assists ranked second among all defenders — and sixth among all players — while her +16 rating was tied for fourth in the league among all players and second among rookies. The 24-year-old native of London, ON, added three points (1G, 2A) in nine postseason contests. Gosling made her senior national team debut at the 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championship, where she earned a gold medal representing Canada.
The addition of Gosling by PWHL Hamilton follows Friday’s Phase 2 signings of forwards Brianne Jenner and Alina Müller, and goaltender Kayle Osborne, each to three-year contracts.
Phase 2 of the Expansion Player Distribution Process, which began Friday at 12 p.m. ET and continues until Monday, June 8 at 1 p.m. ET, allows each expansion team to build the foundation of its roster by acquiring five players through signings and, if necessary, a player selection process. Only players identified on an expansion team’s initial 20-player Exclusive Negotiation Target List are eligible to be signed during Phase 2. Existing teams can lose a maximum of three players who are under contract for the 2026-27 season during this phase. Read the full rules here.
A complete list of player signings and transactions is available on the official PWHL Transactions Page. To see the full overview of the status of PWHL player contracts ahead of Phase 2, visit the PWHL Contract Guide here.
