Good morning all, and welcome to our live coverage of this year’s Bristol International Balloon Fiesta.
As we speak, thousands of people are waking up across the city in preparation for the first mass ascent of the fiesta. While some are loading into Ashton Gate with balloons in their trailers, many more are heading to the park to watch the spectacle up close or to see the skies fill up at viewpoints across the city.
We are on the scene right now amongst the hustle and bustle of the dawn preparations, and will be with you here throughout the day to take in the best stories and pictures from this year’s gathering.
