Ground Delay issued at BNA as FAA reduces flights due to air traffic controller shortage

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Ground Delay has been issued at the Nashville International Airport due to a staffing issue on Tuesday, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The FAA reports that departures to BNA are delayed an average of 126 minutes. According to the FAA, the Ground Delay is slated to last from 4 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.

BNA released a statement at about 2 p.m. regarding an update to travel on Tuesday.
BNA said that the FAA notified the Metro Nashville Airport Authority at 1:25 p.m. that flights arriving and departing from BNA will be reduced beginning at 2:30 p.m. due to a shortage of air traffic controllers.
The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority was notified at 1:25 p.m. by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that flights arriving and departing from Nashville International Airport® (BNA®) will be reduced beginning at 2:30 p.m. (CST) due to a shortage of air traffic controllers. This reduction will remain in effect until further notice.
