Zack Ryder aka Matt Cardona turned out to be LA Knight’s mystery opponent last night on SmackDown as part of John Cena’s The Last Time Is Now tournament. It was a pretty cool moment to see Long Island Iced Z back on SmackDown after more than five years away.
After the show was over, Ryder got the Triple H finger point treatment.
Ryder’s wife Chelsea Green was a very happy lady.
Ryder spoke to WWE cameras backstage with an emotional promo after his return. He’s been busting his ass for over five years trying to get back to WWE, and this may just be a one time thing, but he’ll be ready for the next one. He then got an endorsement from the man who beat him, LA Knight.
Matt Cardona previously indicated the Zack Ryder character was dead, and he would want to return to WWE with his current gimmick on the indies. But of course he’s always ready to cash in on that sweet merch money. WWE owns the name Zack Ryder, and now you can buy his new merchandise over at WWE Shop.
