Check your inbox: Amazon sending out payments in $2.5B settlement over Prime subscriptions

Check your email inbox – you may have a payment from Amazon.

Amazon has started sending refunds from a $2.5 billion settlement to some 35 million customers. For most customers, payments of up to $51 will arrive from now through Dec. 24.

Amazon will provide automatic refunds to millions of eligible Prime customers, including:

  • Amazon Prime customers who live in the U.S.
  • People who signed up for Prime membership through what’s called “challenged enrollment flows” between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, or unsuccessfully tried to cancel their Amazon Prime membership during that time period. The challenged enrollment flows include Prime Video enrollment flow, Universal Prime Decision Page, Single Page Checkout or Shipping Option Select Page.
  • People who used fewer than three Prime benefits, such as watching a Prime video or listening to Amazon music, in any 12-month period after they were enrolled.

If you do not receive an automatic refund, a third-party administrator will send a claims form within 30 days of the first payment. You will have 180 days to complete and submit the claims form when you receive it.

You can see more on the claims process here.

Payments will arrive via PayPal, Venmo or check. The check will be sent to the default shipping address listed on your Prime subscription. You can see more on payments here.
