After facing backlash for ejecting a sleeping couple from his concert in Denver city in the United States, the Nigerian artiste has delivered a defiant response: he doesn’t need fans who cannot afford the ticket.
During a recent social media livestream, the 34-year old Afrobeats star brushed off the criticism with a boast, stating: “Did I tell you all to be my fans? I am only looking for fans who have money.”
This latest remark has ignited a fresh firestorm, with fans debating the artiste’s relationship with the very base that fuels his success.
For Burna Boy, however, this is familiar territory.
His history includes removing a star-struck fan who rushed the stage for a hug and ejecting another for failing to dance.
Burna Boy did not apologise for his actions in both instances.
