MONTEREY, Calif. (KFSN) — The city of Monterey has closed beaches in the area because of an unconfirmed shark incident.
The U.S. Coast Guard, along with search and rescue teams, are looking for a missing 55-year-old woman who was swimming off the coast of Pacific Grove.
The Pacific Grove Police Department received reports of a possible shark attack around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, after a witness told authorities that they saw the incident from the shoreline.
All surrounding beaches within a mile radius are closed as a precautionary measure.
