Two in-form AFC team meet in California on Saturday and the Houston Texans get the vote as handicap underdogs for their trip to face the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Texans are on a six-game winning run which includes some notable victories over the Jaguars, Bills, Colts and Chiefs. DeMeco Ryans’ team are still hunting down the Jaguars for the AFC South title and their excellent defence can help them to cover the handicap at SoFi Stadium.
The Chargers have won four in a row and seven of their last eight but their offence has not been explosive enough to suggest they will be able to crack a resolute Houston defence.
Houston didn’t particularly impress last week when only scraping past the lowly Las Vegas Raiders 23-21, but perhaps taking their foot off the gas in that easier contest was no surprise and they should be fully focused for this test.
