Man held after five people attacked in Newton-Le-Willows hospital

A man has been arrested after assaults on five people with a weapon in a hospital.
Casualties have been treated by paramedics at Newton Community Hospital in Newton-le-Willows, St Helens, after the attack with what may have been a crowbar was reported shortly after 12:00 GMT, Merseyside Police said.
The force said the man was believed to have attended the hospital to request an appointment but became “increasingly agitated” when his request was declined and he was asked to leave.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of five counts of Section 18 wounding, affray and criminal damage.
