Dion Sanderson: Derby County seal permanent move for Birmingham City defender

Derby County have signed Birmingham City defender Dion Sanderson on a deal until 2028.

The 26-year-old has made 24 appearances for the Rams since arriving at Pride Park on loan this summer, playing every minute of 19 Championship games.

Sanderson previously worked with boss John Eustace during their time at Blues and Blackburn Rovers, as well as at Queens Park Rangers where Eustace was part of the coaching staff.

“It’s exciting, a massive honour,” Sanderson told the club website., external

“Derby is a massive club and obviously me knowing the gaffer well, even if he wasn’t here, it was something [signing for Derby] that I would most likely do.

“I couldn’t picture myself anywhere else right now so Derby was the one for me.”

Derby next play second placed Middlesbrough in the Championship on Thursday (15:00 GMT).
