On January 3rd 1986, the Skytrain system started operating as a revenue-generating service, following a short free trial period. After some early growing pains, and despite ongoing funding issues, there’s no doubt the system fundamentally changed the region as it expanded and ridership grew. Jordan Armstrong reports.
