Netflix 2026 TV Slate: Bridgerton, Beef, Hunting Wives, More

This time last year, Netflix was touting upcoming seasons of Stranger Things, Wednesday and Squid Game. Two of those shows have ended and the Jenna Ortega-led drama series isn’t on the schedule for 2026.

However, there’s plenty to sate subscribers as the streamer unveiled a massive slate of scripted series, reality shows, live events and sports as part of its annual Next on Netflix release. Instead of a live event, Netflix is leaning into tarot cards (I wonder what they say about its chances of actually buying Warner Bros. Discovery) with an animatronic Teyana Taylor giving out personal readings in New York later this month.

The streamer has a number of big shows returning this year including new seasons of Outer Banks, The Gentlemen, Black Doves and The Hunting Wives.

Other titles that we now know are launching in 2026 including season four of French drama Lupin, scheduled for the fourth quarter, the fifth and final season of The Witcher, season three of Nobody Wants This and second seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender, 3 Body Problem, Leanne, The Four Seasons and Running Point.

These join the previously announced returns of Bridgerton, which launches its fourth season on January 29, The Lincoln Lawyer, back with season four on February 5, the third season of The Night Agent on February 19, the second season of One Piece – titled Into The Grand Line – on March 10, season seven of Virgin River on March 12, and season five of Sweet Magnolias on June 11 as well as the second season of Beef, which returns April 16.

Stranger Things may have wrapped up the Upside Down, but creators The Duffer Brothers also have three shows premiering this year. The duo are launching The Boroughs, set in a retirement community and starring Alfred Molina, Geena Davis and Bill Pullman, limited series Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, a horror series starring Camila Morrone, Adam DiMarco and Jennifer Jason Leigh and animated spinoff series Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.

This comes ahead of their exit from the streamer with their new four-year deal with Paramount starting in May.

Elsewhere, it’s going to be a big year for period dramas such as the aforementioned Bridgerton, an adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice, starring Emma Corrin and Olivia Colman and a reimagining of Little House on the Prairie plus a modern take on John Steinbeck’s East of Eden starring Florence Pugh.

There’s a lot of animated series including the Ricky Gervais-created Alley Cats, Mating Season from the creators of Big Mouth, Strip Law with Adam Scott and second seasons of Devil May Cry and Long Story Short.

Jeff Gaspin’s unscripted strategy will also be showcased heavily in 2026 with the live launch of Star Search on January 20 with episodes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, a new comedy competition series from Kevin Hart, dating series Age of Attraction, Willy Wonka-themed The Golden Ticket and reality shows including Calabasas Confidential and Let’s Marry Harry plus season ten of Love Is Blind.

On the documentary front, there’s titles featuring Kylie Minogue, Gordon Ramsey and Rafael Nadal as well as natural history series from David Attenborough (A Gorilla Story) and Steven Spielberg (Dinosaurs) as well as Glitter & Gold: Ice Dancing.
