Connor Storrie’s suit is for the Ilya stans

Connor Storrie is a fan favourite across the board. His role as Ilya Rozanov on cult show Heated Rivalry got book stans hot. Fashion heads were into the archive clothing he wore in the show, and threw onto Shane Hollander’s (Hudson Williams) floor. And now, pure-bred hockey fans have something to get behind, too.
At the 32nd Annual Actor Awards Nominations, Storrie came to play. Not hockey, but on the heartstrings of every Ilya fan out there. He started it all off with a red carpet staple, a double-breasted jacket from Dolce & Gabbana. Instead of a white shirt, Storrie jumped back to the the ’90s in a champagne-coloured silk dress shirt unbuttoned down to his chest. The base was solid, going for an ivory pair of slacks and simple black boots. And sitting on his wrist was a Hublot Classic Fusion in gold. (Brand ambassador nomination inbound?)

OK. Beware: I’m about to do some North American mansplaining. Hockey players, traditionally, have dressed like shit. They wear the type of suits you wear at your senior year graduation. The ones you’d buy at a local mall because you needed one that day. And up until recently, that was the rule. But since 2025, the National Hockey League (NHL) switched up their dress code laws for players, getting less strict and letting players have the chance to let their fashion sense go crazy. And this Storrie fit is the blueprint for how they should be dressing.
It’s still the sort of suit you’d still see in an NHL locker room, worn by a seasoned vet. But it’s also still very Ilya. The kind of thing he’d rock before debauching Shane in some truly kinky stuff. All that’s missing is a gold chain and a slight glisten on the chest. Either from playing hockey, or doing ungodly things with (to?) Shane. Dealer’s choice.
At the end of the day, it’s still a suit. It’s tailored nicely, the details are on trend, and the entire outfit looks intentionally put together. There’s a way to do hockey player. And there’s a way to dress smutty. This is the perfect blend of both.
