NHL TRADE RUMOR CHART UPDATED: Canadiens Push for Kadri as Sherwood, Coleman, and O’Reilly Buzz Builds

On Blake Coleman…Montreal continues to show strong interest in Blake Coleman…but it’s worth remembering that he’s essentially from the Dallas area. With the Stars also looking for forward help, that angle could become increasingly interesting as the market develops.
On Justin Faulk…This appears to be a two-horse race right now between Vegas and Detroit…with the Golden Knights likely holding the upper hand. Detroit is still expected to add a defenseman, though the Red Wings are increasingly leaning toward Rasmus Andersson as a primary option.
On Nazem Kadri…I cap the rumor chart at six interested teams per player, and Kadri is the only name currently sitting at that maximum. This is very much Montreal’s push…they are aggressively trying to make this happen. If they fall short, the most likely outcomes are Kadri staying in Calgary or Vancouver quietly sneaking into the mix.
On Keifer Sherwood…Vancouver is looking more and more willing to sign Sherwood before trading him, largely because they haven’t liked the trade value they’ve seen. That’s notable…especially considering Sherwood leads the NHL in hits by a wide margin and can still contribute offensively. The Rangers are very interested, with San Jose and Boston also in the picture.
On Ryan O’Reilly…Ryan O’Reilly’s odds of staying in Nashville have jumped significantly and now sit around 75 percent…as the Predators have started winning again and stabilizing their season.
One Note on the Rumor Chart…Remember that the rumor chart can include information that can’t always be expanded on in a blog. Some details are shared off the record…so if you see something listed that isn’t fully discussed, it may simply be something that can’t be written about publicly just yet.
