Anthony Edwards-Victor Wembanyama Duel Excites NBA Fans as Spurs Win Thriller vs. T-Wolves

Anthony Edwards and Victor Wembanyama made their cases for being the next faces of the NBA during a Saturday night thriller between the Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs.
Edwards racked up a season-high 55 points, including 26 in the fourth quarter, while leading the Timberwolves on a late comeback surge.
Wembanyama, who recorded 39 points and nine rebounds, made a clutch late rebound to help the Spurs hold on to claim a 126-123 home win.
Wembanyama said after the game it was “an honor” to take on Edwards.
“It’s the best case to have the best players go as hard as they can,” Wembanyama told reporters.
Edwards said about playing Wembanyama: “I loved it. I wish we could’ve just moved everybody out of the way… me versus him.”
Fans who enjoyed watching the Spurs’ Saturday night win agreed with both players’ positive feelings about the matchup.
Wembanyama finished the win having shot 12-for-23 from the field, 4-for-9 from deep and 11-for-14 from the foul line.
Edwards went 19-for-33 from field goal range, with a 9-for-16 mark from behind the arc and 8-for-10 record on free throws.
The Spurs improved to 29-13 win the win, helping Wembanyama and his team edge out the Denver Nuggets for second place in the Western Conference.
The Timberwolves are sitting back behind the Nuggets in fourth place at 27-16.
Saturday night’s matchup was the last time the Spurs and Timberwolves are scheduled to face one another this season. If both teams stay on track to make the playoffs, however, there’s a chance fans could see Wembanyama and Edwards meet again in the upcoming postseason.
