Trey Miguel released from AEW

In a bit of unexpected news, Trey Miguel has been released from AEW.
The story moved fast. Earlier on Sunday (Jan. 18, 2026), Miguel posted an announcement on Instagram that he is taking a break from professional wrestling.
Taking a break from wrestling. Please respect my space and don’t tag me in any posts or comments. Go support the Rascalz still…
Miguel’s post comes a few days after AEW revealed that they signed the Rascalz crew, which also includes Zachary Wentz, Dezmond Xavier, and Myron Reed.
A while later on Sunday, Fightful reports confirmation that AEW released Miguel from his contract.
Miguel was noticeably absent from the Rascalz on-screen debut for Collision, which was filmed on Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2026) at the Dynamite session. Wentz, Dez, and Reed were shown emerging from a smoked out locker room with a message that they will take on the best tag teams and the best trios that AEW has to offer.
Miguel wrestled in TNA for over seven years. He won the X-Division Championship twice and the TNA tag titles once with Wentz.
