Overnight collisions keep emergency services busy in Shropshire

Emergency services faced a busy start to Sunday, 18 January, as a series of road traffic collisions occurred across the county within a four-hour window.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews were deployed to four separate incidents between midnight and 4 am.
The spate of incidents began at 12.16 am near Market Drayton, where a crew from the local station was called to the A41 at Rosehill. Firefighters provided first aid at the scene, and the vehicle was left in situ once the area was deemed stable.
Just an hour later, at 1.15 am, emergency calls were received from Telford. Two appliances from Telford Central attended a single-vehicle collision at Brick Kiln Bank, Lightmoor. Fortunately, no one was trapped, and crews worked alongside an Operations officer to make the area safe.
The early hours continued to be active for Shrewsbury crews, who were alerted at 2.50 am to a vehicle that had left the road and come to rest in a hedgerow in Annscroft. Two appliances were mobilised to the scene, where they spent over an hour and a half securing the site.
The final call in this sequence came at 4 am from Beacon Hill Lane in Monkhopton. A car had left the roadway, but the occupant was not trapped. A crew from Much Wenlock attended to make the vehicle safe.
