Wrexham have submitted a £19million bid for Angers striker Sidiki Cherif, sources have told Football Insider.
The ambitious Welsh club have made the Championship record offer for the 19-year-old as they aim to beat Crystal Palace to his signature.
The current record signing by a Championship club came in August 2025 when Ipswich signed Sindre Walle Egeli for a reported £17.5m.
Wrexham and Palace have both held talks over prising Cherif from France before the transfer cut-off.
Cherif has been a breakthrough player for Angers this season as the race for his signature hots up in the final 10 days of the January window.

Wrexham are hopeful of bolstering their squad further in January as Phil Parkinson’s side push for a play-off spot in the Championship.
The Red Dragons went on a four-game winning streak during the festive period, which propelled them up the table, and they now sit just two points behind sixth place.

Wrexham target new defender
Football Insider exclusively revealed earlier in the January transfer window that Wrexham were working on a deal to sign Hampus Skoglund.
The 21-year-old could move to Wales for £2.6million, but German club Mainz were currently leading the race for his signature.
Skoglund, who plays at right-back, has impressed at Swedish club Hammarby, contributing seven assists in 65 appearances.
It would be another show of ambition from the club, with Josh Windass set to remain at Wrexham despite links of a January exit.
