Lucky shopper at Upstate NY Tops supermarket claims $1 million scratch-off prize

An Upstate New York woman has won $1 million from the New York Lottery’s More Money scratch-off game.
Rosemarie Bacon of Gasport (Niagara County) purchased the winning ticket at a Tops supermarket in Lockport.
She elected to receive her winnings through an annuity structure, accepting 20 annual payments of $32,551 each following required tax withholdings.
The More Money game has exhausted its top prize tier, though lower-level prizes remain available for redemption through Dec. 31, 2026. Players can verify the status of any scratch-off game through the Game Report available on the New York Lottery website.
Scratch-off games generated approximately $4.3 billion in sales during the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Schools in Niagara County received $53.1 million in lottery education funding during that same period.
