Texas Tech basketball sets new Big 12 record with 14 3-pointers in first half

The Texas Tech basketball team lit up Foster Pavilion in the first half and continued the pace in the second to set a new program record in the process.

The Red Raiders went 14-of-19 from 3-point range in the first half of Tuesday’s Big 12 Conference game at Baylor and went into the break with a 55-36 advantage. Donovan Atwell went 7-of-9 from 3 with Christian Anderson adding six made 3s for the big cushion.

The 14 3-pointers in one half set a new Big 12 record, the previous mark being 12, a feat that was achieved several times previously. Coincidentally, the last Big 12 team that hit 12 3s in a half was Texas Tech in last year’s meeting with Baylor.
