Three teenage boys have been arrested in connection with a burglary reported near Exeter city centre.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to Cowick Street, St Thomas, after a group of boys was reported to have left a shop without paying for their goods.

A member of staff was also reportedly threatened.

Police officers searched the area with a police helicopter following the incident at 10.40pm on Sunday, January 25.

Two boys, aged 13 and 16, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

A third boy, 14, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Devon and Cornwall Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.

The force said in a statement: “We were called at 10.40pm on Sunday 25 January following a report that a small group of boys had left a shop on Cowick Street, Exeter, without attempting to pay for goods.

“It was also reported that a member of staff had been threatened.

“Officers attended and, along with the police helicopter, searched the area.

“Two teenaged boys, aged 16 and 13, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

“A third teenaged boy, aged 14, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

“All three have been released on bail, and enquiries are ongoing.
