SunSport exclusively revealed in June last year that Celtic were eyeing a £1.5million swoop for Yamada, then of Kawasaki Frontale in the J.League.
A month later, he sealed his switch to Scotland and signed a four-year deal at Parkhead.
However, it’s a move that hasn’t worked out and Yamada has barely featured for Celtic.
Yamada has made just 11 appearances since his move in all competitions.
Only one of those came from the start when he led the line against Livingston all the way back on August 23.
He most recently appeared as a late sub in the 2-0 Scottish Cup win over Auchinleck Talbot.
But he’ll now be spending the rest of the season away from Celtic Park.
The Hoops have confirmed that Yamada has joined German outfit Preussen Munster on loan until the end of the season.

They play in the second tier in Germany and are currently locked in a battle towards the bottom of the table, sitting 15th out of 18 teams.
Yamada follows Celtic’s other recruit from Japan last summer, Hayato Inamura, out the exit door.
The defender made just one appearance – in that same game Yamada started against Livingston – before joining FC Tokyo on loan this month.
Celtic fans will be hoping Yamada’s departure means a new striker could be on the way.
The Hoops have already added Tomas Cvancara this month.
The Czech Republic international joined on an initial loan deal from Borussia Monchengladbach and made his debut in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Hearts.
Striker has been a major problem position for Celtic for the past 12 months.
Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah have both been sold in that time with all the potential replacements signed since struggling to make an impact for one reason or another.
Kelechi Iheanacho was snapped up on a free transfer after the summer deadline had passed but has been blighted by injury.
