Bills to promote OC Joe Brady to be next head coach

The Buffalo Bills are promoting offensive coordinator Joe Brady to become the club’s new head coach, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported on Tuesday.

Brady has agreed to terms on a five-year deal, per The Insiders.

The 36-year-old has been the Bills OC the past two-plus seasons under Sean McDermott, who was fired last week after his ninth season in Buffalo.

Brady joined the Bills staff in 2022 after two seasons as OC for the Carolina Panthers. He then ascended in Buffalo, starting as a quarterbacks coach to becoming the interim OC midway through the 2023 season after Buffalo fired Ken Dorsey.

Brady took over as coordinator full-time beginning in the 2024 season and helped Josh Allen earn MVP honors that year, while also emphasizing Buffalo’s run game with James Cook.

Around The NFL will have more on Brady’s promotion soon.
