List of Charlotte schools closed Monday because of snow

Charlotte area school districts are announcing changes to Monday classes as a result of a second consecutive weekend of winter weather hitting the area.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will be closed Monday, and the school day will not be made up, the district announced Sunday. Before- and after-school programs are also canceled.
Here’s how other districts in the region are planning for class Monday.
- Cabarrus County Schools: Cabarrus County Schools will move to remote learning Monday. After-school and athletic events are canceled Monday.
- Catawba County Schools: Catawba County Schools are closed to students Monday. It will be an optional remote workday for staff. The district also said in its announcement there’s “a strong possibility of remote learning Tuesday and Wednesday.”
- Clover School District: Clover schools will be closed to students Monday. It will be a virtual professional development day for staff.
- Fort Mill School District: All Fort Mill School District schools and facilities will be closed Monday.
- Gaston County Schools: Gaston County Schools will be closed for students and employees Monday.
- Hickory City Schools: Hickory City Schools will be closed to students Monday. It will be an optional remote workday for teachers.
- Iredell-Statesville Schools: Iredell-Statesville Schools will be closed for students Monday. It will be a remote workday for staff. The district’s scheduled teacher workday on Friday, Feb. 6 will now be a regular school day.
- Kannapolis City Schools: Kannapolis City Schools will be closed for students Monday. Staff will have an optional remote workday.
- Lancaster County School District: Lancaster County School District had not announced Monday plans as of 4:30 p.m. Sunday, but Monday was already a scheduled teacher workday.
- Lincoln County Schools: Lincoln County Schools will be closed for students Monday. The day will not be made up. Monday will be an optional remote workday for staff.
- Mooresville Graded School District: Mooresville Graded School District schools and facilities will be closed Monday. Extracurricular activities, practices and events are also canceled. Monday, Feb. 9, originally scheduled as a teacher workday, will now be a make-up day for all students.
- Rock Hill Schools: Monday was already a scheduled teacher workday for Rock Hill Schools. Staff will now work remotely, and all buildings will be closed.
- Rowan-Salisbury Schools: Rowan-Salisbury Schools will be closed for all students and staff Monday. No make-up day will be required, and staff will receive work guidelines from their supervisor.
- Union County Public Schools: Union County Public Schools are closed to students and staff Monday. It will be an optional remote workday for employees, but there will be no remote instruction and no make-up day required, the district said. After-school and athletic events are also canceled Monday.
- York County School District 1: Monday was already a scheduled teacher workday in York County School District 1. It will now be a virtual teacher workday, and all schools, buildings and offices will be closed.
What about Central Piedmont, UNC Charlotte?
Charlotte’s colleges and universities are also adjusting their Monday schedules due to the lingering impacts of the weekend snowstorm.
Central Piedmont Community College will move to remote learning Monday, the school announced. In-person events are canceled, and campuses and buildings will be closed.
Monday classes at UNC Charlotte will also be remote. Residence halls remain open, but dining options are limited and on-campus activities are canceled Monday.
