Report: Nets waive guard Cam Thomas

The Brooklyn Nets’ leading scorer from the past two seasons has been let go.

The score-first guard will be a premier option on the buyout market.

Thomas, 24, is averaging 15.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists over 24 games on suboptimal 39.9 per cent shooting from the floor and 32.5 per cent shooting from deep.

However, the six-foot-three guard scored 22.9 points per game on 44 per cent shooting over the previous two seasons.

Thomas was on a one-year, $6-million contract.

He’s now an option for teams looking to add a scoring punch off the bench in the race for playoff positioning.
