Devin Booker, Stephen Curry out; Jalen Green questionable for Suns-Warriors on Prime

Star guards Devin Booker and Stephen Curry were both ruled out ahead of Thursday’s Suns-Warriors game that will be streamed exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

Booker’s missed games tally rises to seven straight due to a right ankle sprain that he suffered in a road loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Jan. 23. He scored 31 points on 12-of-21 shooting in his last outing.

Jalen Green was the only other Suns player on Wednesday’s injury report, the guard being listed as questionable for right hamstring management/left hip contusion. He has now missed three straight games after a hard fall on his back when Phoenix matched up with the Cleveland Cavaliers last Friday.

Green has appeared in just five of the Suns’ 51 games, and he has averaged 11.6 points (43.5% shooting), 2.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Curry will miss his second consecutive contest due to a right knee injury. He has averaged 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 39 games played.

The two-time NBA MVP was active for the previous three matchups between Phoenix and Golden State, in which the Suns went 2-1 holding Curry under 50% shooting in all three games.

Jimmy Butler remains sidelined after tearing his right ACL on Jan. 20. The blockbuster trade acquisition last season averaged 20 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 38 games played.

Seth Curry (left sciatic nerve irritation) and Jonathan Kuminga (left knee bone bruise) are also out for Thursday.

The younger Curry, who had a two-game stint with the Suns in the 2014-15 season, will reportedly be reevaluated in about two weeks and has progressed from his injury to on-court workouts. Kuminga will miss his sixth straight game and has only managed 20 game appearances this season with other knee and ankle injuries.

L.J. Cryer was ruled questionable for left hamstring injury management. The undrafted rookie has been a fixture in three games — all in January — seeing eight minutes of action on the floor.

Listen to Suns-Warriors at 8 p.m. on 98.7 and the Arizona Sports app.
