Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs sued in Florida days before Super Bowl

The confrontations, the plaintiff claims, culminated in an alleged assault by two men in Stefon Diggs’s circle at a Miami strip club in December 2025. Court documents name the plaintiff, but the Globe is not identifying him because he’s an alleged assault victim.
The online portal for the lawsuit did not list attorneys for the defendants as of Saturday afternoon. Lawyers representing Stefon Diggs in other cases did not immediately return a request for comment. The Patriots did not immediately return a request for comment.

The complaint, filed Feb. 3, states Diggs and the plaintiff had a “longstanding business and personal relationship.” The plaintiff “arranged travel, vehicles, events, and other personal logistics” for the NFL star, according to the suit.
Diggs, in July 2024, had asked the plaintiff to arrange the shipment of his Ferrari from Miami to New York to Houston, the suit said. That month, the Ferrari was allegedly stolen in Houston in a “sophisticated theft by third parties.”
The plaintiff, the suit continued, was “not charged, cited, or identified as a suspect by law enforcement in connection with the Ferrari theft.”
The lawsuit maintains that the plaintiff and Diggs “continued to interact socially and professionally” after the theft, “without apparent strain.”
That supposedly changed in December 2024, when, the plaintiff alleges, Diggs began falsely accusing him of having stolen the Ferrari.
The alleged accusations of theft “severely harmed” the plaintiff’s business, according to the lawsuit.
“Individuals and entities in the overlapping social and professional circles in which Plaintiff operated stopped hiring him and stopped referring clients, leading to a marked decline in revenue,” the lawsuit stated.
In the months that followed the botched Ferrari delivery, the lawsuit alleged, supposed members of Diggs’s social circle, including Diggs’s brother Darez, confronted the plaintiff on multiple occasions.
The lawsuit names three Diggs brothers — Stefon, Trevon, and Darez — and two alleged members of their social circle as defendants.
The alleged “escalating confrontations” came to a head on Dec. 4, 2025, at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami, according to the complaint.
The two alleged members in Stefon Diggs’s circle approached the plaintiff by the doorway of a private room, according to the complaint. After an exchange, one of the men allegedly punched the plaintiff in the face without “warning, provocation, or legal justification.”
The plaintiff retreated into the private room, where a friend and associate was seated, before both men returned to the hallway, the lawsuit states.
Once in the hallway, the plaintiff claims Stefon Diggs’s associates confronted him again, and a “physical struggle ensued.” The plaintiff alleges that Trevon Diggs was “present in the hallway during the incident and observed the events without intervening.”
Trevon Diggs, also a professional football player, was released by the Green Bay Packers in January.
One of the defendants, Vincent Anthony Franklin, could not be reached for comment as of Saturday afternoon. The other defendants did not immediately return requests for comment.
The plaintiff claims he sustained numerous serious injuries as a result of the alleged assault, including an ACL tear, an MCL tear, and a right nasal bone fracture.
The plaintiff accuses Trevon Diggs and Darez Diggs, of “aiding and abetting” the assault. The plaintiff also accuses Stefon Diggs of “vicarious liability,” since Stefon Diggs supposedly “had the ability to control, direct, or stop” the alleged conduct of his affiliates.
The plaintiff is seeking more than $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, lost income, and “diminished earning capacity,” among other injuries, according to court filings.
The plaintiff’s attorney declined to comment on the case.
The Florida lawsuit, arriving just days before the Super Bowl, follows separate legal troubles for Stefon Diggs that surfaced late last year.
Dedham police in December charged the Patriots player with assault and strangulation after a personal chef accused him of hitting and choking her over a money dispute. Diggs’s lawyer denied that the incident occurred.
