Purdue football did not have a player participating in Sunday’s Super Bowl, but a former Boilermaker did get to raise the Lombardi Trophy.
Former Purdue receiver Kirk Olivadotti coaches inside linebackers for the Seattle Seahawks, which defeated the Patriots 29-13 at Levi’s Stadium.
Olivadotti played for Purdue from 1993-96.
In 44 career games with the Boilermakers, Olivadotti caught 44 passes for 488 yards and one touchdown.
Olivadotti has spent the past two seasons of his 23-year NFL coaching career with the Seahawks. Olivadotti has spent most of his NFL career with Washington and also coached inside linebackers for the Green Bay Packers for four seasons before joining Seattle. He was the linebackers coach at University of Georgia from 2011-13 and also coached on the staff at Indiana State from 1998-99.
