Birmingham City vs Albion | Match Pack

Birmingham City’s return to the Sky Bet Championship has been a solid one, but those associated with Tuesday’s hosts will be hoping they can squeeze out of the middle of the pack and mount a play-off challenge in the final few months of the term.

The Blues sit tenth in the second-tier table and are closing in on the top six, having won four and drawn two of their last six league fixtures.

Their 2-1 home triumph over Leicester City on Saturday means they’re just two points shy of the play-off spots and will move up to sixth if they beat the Baggies.

Tuesday’s hosts have one of the strongest records in front of their own supporters in the division, losing just one of their 15 matches played on home soil this season. They’ve also hit 30 goals at St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park, which is the second-highest home tally in the Championship, bettered only by Coventry City.

Chris Davies, a former coach at Tottenham Hotspur, was appointed ahead of the start of the 2024/25 Sky Bet League One term. The 40-year-old guided the Blues to a record-breaking campaign in his first year in charge and will be keen to help them have a shot at promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs this season.

His overall record at the club is impressive, winning 58, drawing 19 and losing just 17 of his 94 games in charge.
