India vs Pakistan — No handshakes in IND v PAK again, this time in Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026

The India A versus Pakistan A match in the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 saw the two sides choosing against shaking hands yet again, with the match set to be played in Thailand on Sunday.
The move reflects a recent pattern involving Indian teams in matches against Pakistan, with the men’s U-19 Asia Cup final being the latest such episode before toss on February 15.
During the men’s Asia Cup earlier this year, Indian players opted out of pre and post-match handshakes in all three encounters between the sides. A similar approach was followed by the Indian women’s team at the Women’s World Cup 2025.
This stance has coincided with heightened political tensions between the two countries following the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people were killed, and the subsequent Operation Sindoor.
India A comes into the contest after a seven-wicket defeat to the United Arab Emirates.
Pakistan A, on the other hand, opened its campaign with a convincing 30-run win over Nepal. It currently sits top of Group A while India A is third. The top two teams in the group will advance to the semifinals.
