SMITHSBURG — The Clyde Downs Trophy returned to its most frequent destination.
Williamsport’s boys won the Washington County Public Schools Wrestling Tournament for the 17th time in the tournament’s 35 years on Friday, Feb. 20. The Wildcats brought home the trophy each year from 2018 to 2024.
Williamsport had four individual champions and scored 181 points. Defending champion Boonsboro finished second with five individual champions and 153 points.
Smithsburg repeated as the team champion in the second year with a full girls tournament, scoring 141 points and crowning six individual champions. Williamsport had three individual champions and finished second with 106 points.
